We say that LIFT groups are the true "backbone" of New Life Church because we believe relationships are the true "incubator" for spiritual growth. This is why we place such a high priority on our folks attending a LIFT group. We don't desire for anyone at NLC to "get lost in the crowd." We all need each other and this is especially true in the body of Christ. Our desire for our LIFT groups is that each person would grow deeper in their walk with God and develop relationships within the body of Christ.

First and foremost, our personal relationship with Jesus Christ is paramount to anything else.

Secondarily, our relationships with each other are vital for growth and strength

What is a LIFT group?

    LIFT groups are:

        1. Small groups of people from New Life Church who meet in homes throughout our surrounding area.

        2. Full of wonderful people who are in different stages of their walk with God.

        3. A secure, safe place where people are able to express their feelings regardless of their background or life circumstances.

        4. A place where people can discover that God is real and active in their lives.

        5. A group of people that you can truly call "family" who will pray for your specific needs.

        6. A place to laugh, cry and just have a good time with people who truly care about you.

        7. A place to discuss the Bible and how it relates to our every day lives.

What takes place at a LIFT group?

        1. The Bible is discussed.

        2. Encouragement is given.

        3. True friendships are developed.

        4. People pray for special needs.

        5. God is present to touch His sheep personally.

LIFT groups exist to:

    1. Lift Jesus Christ

Jesus stated that if He were to be lifted up, He would draw all people to Him. (John 12:32)

    2. Lift each other

We are called to be a blessing to each other and strengthen each other. (Romans 14:19)

    3. Lift our community

We are called to be "salt" and "light" to our community. As we become more like Jesus Christ, and help others to do the same, we become a blessing to our community as well. (Matthew 5:13)
