NLC's founder, Pastor Michael Ray in 1970 newspaper article

New Life Church is a community church which has been serving the Sandusky area for over 40 years. NLC was founded by and in the home of Rev. Michael E. Ray in August of 1966. Pastor Ray felt a need to reach the city of Sandusky, That first service had 9 people in attendance. The church then began to have services in the UAW Local 1216 hall on Bardshar Road in  September of 1996 and continued in that location for 4 years. The growing assembly then purchased an existing church building located at 1012 Columbus Avenue in 1970 and continued there for 18 years. The current property was purchased and facilities were built in 1988 under tthe direction of Pastor David M. Wasmundt, who led Life Tabernacle for 22 years. Much of the construction work was completed by church members. In the Spring of 1997, John C. Adams was installed as pastor. In January of 2006, NLC purchased an adjacent 5 acres of property on the North side of our existing property. With its prime location on St. Rt. 250 and beautiful, spacious facilities, New Life Church is growing through serving.

New Life Church, which was formerly known as Life Tabernacle, was originally founded as a United Pentecostal Church. NLC severed ties with the UPC in the early 90's due to differing views on outward adornment issues and justification by faith and currently has no connections to it. Being a contemporary, Non-denominational, Independent church, NLC successfully ministers to a wide variety of people and is truly a mulit-cultural congregation.
